LE SSERAFIM, the popular K-pop group, has taken a significant step in their fight against online harassment by successfully obtaining approval from a U.S. court to access the personal information of individuals behind malicious YouTube channels. The channels, known as "Short Chajang" and "Issue Feed," have been spreading false information and harmful rumors about the group members, which include Kim Chae-won, Sakura, Heo Yun-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae.
On August 23, Source Music, LE SSERAFIM's agency, announced that their request for information disclosure from the Northern District Court of California had been accepted. This request, submitted in July, was specifically aimed at uncovering the identities of the YouTubers responsible for the defamatory content. With the court's decision in their favor, Source Music plans to obtain the necessary information from Google and proceed with a civil lawsuit in Korea.
This marks a crucial development in the agency's ongoing efforts to protect their artists from cyberbullying and false accusations. The approval comes after a previous attempt to secure this information under criminal investigation grounds was denied. By shifting to a civil lawsuit approach, Source Music has now gained the legal leverage needed to pursue justice for LE SSERAFIM.
As the group prepares for the release of their 4th mini-album, "CRAZY," on August 30, fans worldwide have shown strong support for the agency's actions. The new album, featuring the EDM-based title track "CRAZY," is set to showcase the group's dynamic sound and creative artistry.
