The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has released its monthly list of certified works for streaming, covering achievements in July 2024. Several prominent K-pop artists have earned Gold certifications, which require a total of 50 million streams across various platforms.

To achieve these Gold certifications, each of these tracks has surpassed 50 million streams. The RIAJ's streaming certification criteria include streams from a wide range of services, such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music, among others. Music videos are not included in the stream count, but streams from discontinued services like Google Play Music are still counted.
BTS Achieves Diamond Certification for "Butter"
In addition to the Gold certifications, the RIAJ has also updated its list of Diamond-certified works for 2024. BTS’s global hit "Butter," released on May 21, 2021, under Universal Music, has earned Diamond certification as of June 2024. This prestigious certification is awarded to tracks that have reached 500 million streams, highlighting BTS's continued dominance in the music industry.
These certifications reflect the ongoing popularity of K-pop in Japan and globally, showcasing the impact of these artists on the streaming landscape.
