SEVENTEEN took the Main Stage South by storm today at Lollapalooza Berlin 2024, marking a historic moment as the first K-pop act to headline the iconic festival. The 13-member boyband wowed fans with a powerful hour-and-a-half set, delivering high-energy performances, humor, and heartfelt moments. Notably, this performance also marked Jeonghan's final appearance before his upcoming enlistment, making the evening even more emotional for both the group and their fans, known as Carats.
Opening the show with their hit song "손오공 (Son Ogong)," SEVENTEEN set the tone for an unforgettable night. Despite singer Jun's absence due to scheduling conflicts in China, the group delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing their synchronized dance routines and vocal excellence. The complexity of delivering flawless vocals from all members is a challenge few groups can manage, yet SEVENTEEN exceeded expectations, blending impressive harmonies and dynamic rap sections.
Among the most anticipated moments was their powerful rendition of "DON QUIXOTE," with each member shining in their respective parts. DK and Woozi captivated the crowd with their soaring vocals, while Seungkwan's voice left the audience breathless, with fans praising him as the vocal powerhouse of the group. Wonwoo's rap was sharp and consistent throughout the show, maintaining energy that seemed as fresh as if the concert had just started.
One of the lighter moments of the night came during the introduction to "MASTRO," when Hoshi humorously declared that the conductor's baton was actually his chopstick, a perfect lead-in to the highly anticipated hit. As always, Hoshi's boundless energy elevated the performance, pushing the excitement even higher.
Mingyu, as expected, turned heads with his stunning visuals, enchanting the audience with every move. His presence was a visual treat for Carats who came out to support the group. Meanwhile, Jeonghan, who sported his long 70s-inspired hair for the last time, was a sentimental highlight. Fans cherished his final moments on stage before he has to shave his hair for his upcoming military service.
