Singer Jessi has once again issued a public apology regarding the recent controversy involving her alleged inaction during an incident where a fan was assaulted by one of her associates. The incident, which occurred in late September, has drawn significant attention and criticism, prompting Jessi to take full responsibility.
On October 23, Jessi took to social media to express her regret and offer an apology to the victim and their family. In her post, she stated, "I deeply apologize to the victim and their family for the pain caused by this incident. My actions, or lack thereof, have hurt not only the victim but many others."
Reflecting on the situation, Jessi admitted that she has been filled with regret. "I’ve replayed that moment thousands of times. If only I had taken a photo with the fan, protected them more assertively, or reported the incident to the police right away, the victim would not have had to suffer this much."
Jessi acknowledged that her initial response, where she described the attacker as a stranger, was inadequate and added to the hurt. She had previously stated that the person who committed the assault was someone she had met for the first time that evening. However, she now admits that her handling of the situation was deeply flawed.
In her latest apology, she said, "I know a simple apology cannot undo the harm. But I will do everything I can to correct my mistakes and help the victim recover."
The incident occurred on September 29 in Apgujeong, Gangnam, when a fan approached Jessi for a photo. The fan was allegedly assaulted by one of Jessi's companions, sparking public outrage. Jessi's initial apology, issued on October 12, failed to fully address her perceived inaction during the incident, leading to further criticism.
Jessi also revealed that she has been cooperating with the authorities. On October 6, she appeared at the Gangnam Police Station for questioning in connection with the case, facing accusations of concealment and failing to intervene.
In her closing statement, Jessi asked for forgiveness once again, acknowledging that it may come too late but expressing her determination to make amends.
The incident remains under investigation, with the public closely watching how the situation unfolds.
