On the October 11th episode of KBS 2TV's 'The Seasons - Lee Young-ji's Rainbow,' SHINee's Key, singer Park Jae-beom, and actor Park Jung-min joined as special guests, delivering plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments.
During the episode, Key reflected on his recent activities and shared that he would soon wrap up promotions for his new mini-album, Pleasure Shop. Host Lee Young-ji played a video of Key’s emotional moment when he won first place on a music show, bringing Key's raw emotions back into the spotlight.
Lee Young-ji expressed her admiration, saying, "It was touching to see someone like Key, who takes first place so naturally, still shed tears of joy. It showed how much the achievement meant to him."
In the video, Key was seen tearing up during his acceptance speech, where he said, "It's not easy to receive first place at my age, so I'm so grateful. I'll keep working hard. This is my job, and I'll continue to do my best. Thank you."
When asked why he became emotional, Key shared, "As a solo artist, it's been three years since I won first place. I was so happy that I cried without realizing it."
Key also opened up about the pressure of measuring up to the success of SHINee, saying, "The team SHINee has always done well and has a clear vision, but I’ve always wondered if I, as a solo artist, live up to the brand value of the group." He went on to explain that over the years, he’s worked hard to align himself with SHINee’s standards, and now feels more confident in his abilities, finding joy in his journey.
When Lee Young-ji asked him about turning 30, Key shared, "I wasn’t very proud or satisfied with my 20s. My 30s feel like the time to correct the mistakes I made back then." He further added, "I think by the time I’m in my 40s, I’ll be able to correct the mistakes I’m making now and enjoy life with more ease."
The candid conversation left viewers and fellow guests alike touched by Key's humility and determination.
