SM Entertainment announced on October 15 that it has terminated its exclusive contract with Taeil, a former member of NCT, following criminal charges related to sexual misconduct.

The agency stated on the 16th, "Taeil is currently under investigation by prosecutors, which constitutes grounds for contract termination. Given the severity of the situation, we have mutually agreed to end the contract."
Taeil, who debuted with NCT U in 2016 and was an active member of NCT 127, was accused of involvement in a sexual crime in August. After police investigation, the case was transferred to prosecutors last month without detention. SM expressed its deep regret, apologizing for the distress caused by the incident.
