South Korean singer Jessi has been officially cleared of any involvement in an assault case involving a minor fan. The incident, which occurred on September 29 in Seoul's Apgujeong district, led to an investigation amid public scrutiny after a fan was allegedly assaulted by one of Jessi’s acquaintances. Today, the Seoul Gangnam Police Department confirmed there was no evidence implicating Jessi in the assault or suggesting that she aided the perpetrator.

The incident reportedly began when a fan approached Jessi for a photo late at night. After Jessi declined, one of her companions allegedly attacked the fan without provocation. Jessi attempted to intervene but soon left the scene, a decision that led to further questions about her role. The alleged assailant, an acquaintance of Jessi’s collaborator and music producer Koala, has since left the country, while Koala remains under investigation for his connection to the case.
Following a thorough investigation, police concluded there was no basis for charging Jessi with aiding or abetting. Jessi expressed regret for the incident, apologizing to the fan and his family and pledging her support to ensure justice. She recently terminated her contract with her management, a move she says will allow her greater freedom moving forward.

Singer Henry, who was one of the people at the scene of the incident at the time, explained the situation, saying, "I was introduced to several friends, including Jessie. The fans who recognized Jessie asked to take a picture, and she readily accepted the request."
He continued, "A male fan approached Jessie and asked to take a picture. It was late at night, she was tired, and her friend Koala was drunk, so Jessie was taking care of her. Despite Jessie's refusal, the fan repeatedly asked, 'Why?', and the man she met that night suddenly punched the fan. None of us know him personally."
