Stray Kids, one of the leading K-pop acts under JYP Entertainment, continues to solidify their global impact with their latest album, SKZHOP HIPTAPE: 合 (HOP). Released on December 13, the album and its title track "Walkin On Water" are achieving remarkable milestones across charts and platforms worldwide.
Solo Music Videos Dominate YouTube Trends
The group’s innovative approach to releasing individual solo tracks from the album has captivated fans. Starting December 16, Stray Kids began rolling out music videos for the solo tracks, three of which—Felix’s "Unfair", I.N’s "HALLUCINATION", and Seungmin’s "As We Are"—quickly climbed to the top three spots on YouTube’s Worldwide Music Video Trending chart by December 19. These videos are trending in over 20 regions, including the United States, Mexico, and France.
Each video showcases the members' unique artistry and emotional depth. For example, I.N’s video highlights his dramatic flair and reverse charm, while Seungmin offers a warm message of solace to youth. Felix’s emotive performance enhances the immersive quality of his track. Anticipation grows for the remaining five solo tracks, featuring members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Changbin, and Han.
Album Sales and Global Chart Success
合 (HOP) has set new records for the group. Within 24 hours of its release, the album sold over 1.42 million copies on Hanteo Chart, achieving Million Seller status. It also topped the weekly album charts and secured No. 1 positions on Worldwide and European iTunes Album Charts. Notably, the album dominated Japan's Tower Records daily sales rankings on December 18.
The title track, "Walkin On Water", has also maintained a stronghold, staying at the pinnacle of YouTube’s Music Video Trending chart worldwide for four consecutive days.
Billboard Triumphs
At the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, Stray Kids won the Top Global K-pop Artist award for the second consecutive year, a testament to their growing international acclaim. Additionally, their albums 樂-STAR and ATE ranked fourth and ninth, respectively, on Billboard’s Top Album Sales year-end chart—the highest placements for any Korean act. They also claimed top spots on the World Albums and World Album Artists charts.
World Tour Expansion
Stray Kids are set to launch the Stray Kids World Tour <dominATE> with a show in Jakarta on December 21. The tour will continue in Hong Kong in January 2025 before moving to 20 cities across Latin America, North America, and Europe.
