In the latest chapter of the ongoing conflict between K-pop sensation NewJeans and their agency ADORE, the company has expressed concerns regarding a new social media account created by the group.

On December 18, ADORE released a statement emphasizing that "all accounts aside from the official NewJeans SNS platforms created by ADORE have been set up without prior agreement, as stipulated in their exclusive contract." The agency noted that the unauthorized account has already led to "inquiries and complaints from advertisers and third parties," raising alarm about potential repercussions.
ADORE clarified that NewJeans has designated platforms for engaging with fans, including official Instagram, Twitter (X), and other sanctioned accounts. They reiterated their preference for the group to continue using these official channels to maintain transparent communication with fans.
This development comes amidst an ongoing legal dispute. Last month, on November 28, NewJeans accused ADORE of breaching their exclusive contract and announced their intent to terminate their agreement. In response, ADORE filed a lawsuit seeking confirmation of the contract's validity, asserting that unilateral termination is not permissible without due legal process.
Adding to the tension, NewJeans launched a new social media account named "jeanzforfree" on December 14, greeting fans with posts saying, "It’s really us" and "We missed you." The move appears to be a direct effort by the group to communicate independently, further escalating the disagreement with their agency.
As the situation unfolds, fans and industry insiders alike are closely monitoring how this legal and public relations battle will impact the group's future and relationship with ADORE.
