K-pop group TEMPEST continues to expand its presence in Japan with their second Japanese mini-album, BUBBLE GUM. The album entered the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart at No. 12 and ranked No. 10 on the Oricon Weekly Albums chart for the week of December 18.
Since debuting in Japan with their mini-album BANG! in April, TEMPEST has steadily gained recognition. The release of BUBBLE GUM on December 11 marked another step forward, debuting at No. 7 on the Oricon Daily Albums chart. These results reflect the group’s growing popularity and steady progress in the competitive Japanese music market.
BUBBLE GUM features a mix of fresh and familiar tracks, including the title track “Bubble Gum,” noted for its groovy beats and catchy hip-hop influences, and “Broken Record,” a track filled with emotional resonance. Japanese-language versions of their popular Korean songs “LIGHTHOUSE” and “Slow Motion” have also been included, broadening their appeal to local audiences.
To celebrate the release, TEMPEST hosted solo concerts in Osaka and Tokyo, their first standalone shows in 16 months. The performances included tracks from their Japanese discography, stages from Mnet's Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE, and covers of Japanese songs, creating a special experience for attendees.
With their recent success, TEMPEST is expected to continue their Japanese promotions, exploring more opportunities to connect with international fans through new music and performances. The group’s steady growth signals a promising trajectory in their global endeavors.
