In a significant move, K-pop sensation NewJeans has officially rebranded as NJZ. The group is set to debut under their new name at ComplexCon Hong Kong, scheduled from March 21 to 23 at the AsiaWorld-Expo convention center. This performance will feature new, unreleased music, marking an exciting new chapter for the quintet.
The rebranding comes amid an ongoing legal dispute with their former label, ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE Corporation. In November 2024, the group announced the termination of their contract, citing issues such as manipulation, mistreatment, and workplace harassment. ADOR has contested these claims, asserting that the group remains under contract and has initiated legal action to prevent NJZ from signing independent advertising deals.
Despite these challenges, NJZ is focusing on their future. Member Hanni expressed that the rebrand is a way of turning this rough period of time into something more exciting. The group aims to move forward creatively, with plans to experiment with different types of performances and a bold new image.
Fans can look forward to NJZ headlining performance at ComplexCon Hong Kong, where they will share their new music and vision with the world. Tickets for the event go on sale on February 12 at 4 PM.
As NJZ embarks on this new journey, they remain committed to their artistry and their fans, eager to showcase their evolution and resilience in the face of adversity.
