Taemin, a member of the renowned K-pop group SHINee, has initiated legal proceedings against individuals responsible for spreading malicious comments and false information online. His agency, Big Planet Made (BPM), issued an official statement on February 6, detailing the steps taken to address defamation, sexual harassment, and false rumors.
According to BPM, the agency has been actively monitoring online platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Daum Café, Nate Pann, TheQoo, Instiz, and DC Inside. With the help of fan reports and internal surveillance, they have gathered substantial evidence of defamatory posts and comments. Based on this evidence, BPM has formally filed a complaint with investigative authorities, citing violations including insult, defamation, spreading false information, and sexual harassment.
BPM emphasized that they will continue to collect and preserve evidence to ensure a thorough legal response. The agency also made it clear that there will be no leniency or settlements with those responsible.

Fan Involvement and Ongoing Efforts
Fans have played a significant role in this legal process by submitting reports of harmful content. BPM expressed gratitude for their support and encouraged continued vigilance. The agency assured that all submitted materials would be meticulously reviewed and incorporated into their legal strategy.
SMTOWN LIVE 2025 Controversy
Taemin’s absence from 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025' at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul last month led to speculation regarding his participation in group activities. Some online users criticized his engagement with SHINee, prompting Taemin to clarify the situation through a fan communication platform. He explained that the decision resulted from a coordination process between his former agency, SM Entertainment, and his current management, BPM.
BPM has firmly addressed the unfounded rumors surrounding this issue, stating that they contain false information and will be dealt with legally. The agency reiterated its commitment to protecting Taemin from malicious attacks and misinformation.
Global Success and Future Plans
Despite the challenges, Taemin continues to thrive in his career. His first solo world tour, Ephemeral Gaze, which began in August last year, saw successful performances across multiple Asian cities, including Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Tokyo, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila. The tour’s popularity has led to additional stops in major international cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and São Paulo and Mexico.
