About ZEROBASEONE
ZEROBASEONE (Korean: 제로베이스원; RR: Jerobeiseuwon), stylized in all caps as ZB1, is a dynamic South Korean boy band created through the popular reality competition show, Boys Planet, and managed by WakeOne. The group is composed of nine talented members: Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Park Gun-wook, and Han Yu-jin.
Debut and Early Success
ZEROBASEONE made their official debut on July 10, 2023, with their EP Youth in the Shade. The release was a commercial triumph, selling over two million copies and topping the South Korean Circle Album Chart. This impressive debut also earned recognition on the Billboard Global 200 with its lead single, "In Bloom."
Award-Winning Achievements
ZEROBASEONE achieved the prestigious "Rookie Grand Slam" by sweeping ten Rookie of the Year awards across various domestic award ceremonies, including the Golden Disc Awards, MAMA Awards, Melon Music Awards, and Seoul Music Awards.
Formation Through Boys Planet
The group was formed through Mnet's Boys Planet, a reality competition that aired from February to April 2023, featuring 98 contestants from various countries. ZEROBASEONE emerged as a standout, with nine members making it to the final lineup. The group is expected to actively promote together for approximately two and a half years.
Milestones and Releases
- May 2023: Participated in KCON Japan and released a teaser for Youth in the Shade.
- July 2023: Official debut with the EP Youth in the Shade.
- November 2023: Released second EP, Melting Point.
- March 2024: Made Japanese debut with the single "Yura Yura (Unmei no Hana)".
- May 2024: Released third EP, You Had Me at Hello, with lead single "Feel the Pop".
- August 2024: Released fourth EP, Cinema Paradise.
Endorsements and Brand Collaborations
ZEROBASEONE has been featured as brand models for several popular brands, including Bring Green, Romantic Crown, Skoolooks, and SPAO. In April 2024, they collaborated with Line Friends to release a collection of characters based on each member.
